B.C.'s police watchdog is looking into the involvement an RCMP officer might have had in an incident in Lake Country.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. said in a media release at approximately 7:35 p.m., Sept. 11, a man was stopped by an RCMP officer while driving his blue 2012 Mazda 3 on Highway 97 near Lodge Road in Lake Country.

During the traffic stop, an interaction occurred and the man sustained a serious injury.

The role that the officer's actions or inaction played in the man's injury is under investigation.

The civilian oversight agency investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether or not there is any allegation of wrongdoing.

Anyone who saw, heard or recorded the incident is urged to contact the Witness Line toll free at 1-855-446-8477 or via the contact form online here.
