VERNON - Five adorable puppies were found on the side of the road by a B.C. Wildfire fire crew heading back after a day fighting fires in the Southern Interior.
The initial attack crew found the pups at the side of the road while returning from battling the Monashee Complex of wildfires northeast of Vernon yesterday, Aug. 19, according to a B.C. Wildfire Service post on Facebook.
In an effort to find where the puppies had come from, the crew contacted the local authorities but were told there were no houses or properties nearby.
The firefighters took the lost pups back home with them, and they are safe and sound, and being well fed and cared for, B.C. Wildfire says.
They contacted the B.C. SPCA in hopes the owner may be found.
