Cat lovers who are thinking about growing their family can bring home a new feline for half of the regular adoption fee at the BC SPCA
June is National Adopt-a-Cat month, according to the BC SPCA, and to help more cats find new homes half the cost of adoption will be waved later this week.
“Cats come into the BC SPCA’s care for a number of reasons,” the society's Adrienne McBride said in a media release.
“Some are strays, some are surrendered because their guardians are moving to homes where pets aren’t allowed, or they just aren’t able to care for them. Cats are also seized by our animal protection officers.”
All B.C. SPCA locations will be offering the discounted rate from Thursday, June 22, until Sunday, June 25.
“Many people aren’t aware of just how affectionate and loving a cat can be,” McBride said. “They are often a great companion to other animals in the home as long as the proper introductions are made.”
