A B.C. nurse has been barred from practicing for four weeks after she defrauded the public by fiddling with her timesheet.

Burnaby registered nurse Olympia Dela Rosa admitted to professional misconduct for doctoring her timesheet between April and August 2021, according to an April 7, B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives decision.

"The conduct defrauded the public healthcare system," the decision says.

The decision says Dela Rosa deliberately manipulated two schedules at two different worksites to allow her to hold two full-time positions.

"The Registrant's misconduct was coordinated to allow her to work at one site while taking leave (paid and unpaid sick leave, vacation, unpaid general leave, WorkSafeBC, and paid and unpaid COVID related leave) from the other," the decision says.

Once the situation came to light the registered nurse was fired from both positions.

Dela Rosa signed a consent agreement with the nursing College agreeing to a four-week suspension, a "public reprimand" and to take remedial education in professional ethics and boundaries.

No other information is given in the decision.
