Crews have made significant progress yesterday and overnight, restoring power to the majority of customers affected by the snow storm in the Thompson/Shuswap area.

There are currently 35 customers without power in the Johnsons Landing area of the Lardeau Valley where there was significant damage to our system from treefall that resulted in several broken poles and several spans of downed power line.

Crews are on site and expect to restore power today.

At the peak of outages, 6,650 customers are without power throughout the province, according to BC Hydro, for a number of reasons, including ongoing snow storms throughout the province.
