BC Conservative Tara Armstrong is taking over the Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream riding after BC Liberal Norm Letnick held the seat for four terms.

Armstrong beat out her opponents BC NDP Anna Warwick Sears, Independent Kevin Kraft, and BC Green's Andrew Rose.

This will be Armstrong's first time in office and she comes from a small business background.

Armstrong is originally from Alberta but she has spent time in Kelowna since her family opened up a business here in 2007.

BC Conservatives appointed Armstrong to the party’s board of directors in June 2023.

The riding has been held by the BC Liberals for 16 years, but Armstrong’s win isn’t a surprise since she maintained a steady lead in the polls for the entire campaign.

Armstrong worked in aviation which led her around the world including living and working in Dubai. She even made an appearance on CBC’s Dragons’ Den.

She is the first MLA after the riding was redrawn.
