In the past six months, an NHLer from B.C. has played for the New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Then on March 3, the NHL’s trade deadline day, Dryden Hunt from Cranbrook was traded from the Leafs to the Calgary Flames in exchange for forward Radim Zohorna.
Hunt played nine games for Toronto before getting dealt. He started the 2022-2023 season with the New York Rangers before getting picked up off waivers by the Colorado Avalanche. He’s played a total of 37 games this season and scored 3 goals.
In previous seasons he was a member of the Florida Panthers and Arizona Coyotes. Throughout his NHL career, he has a total of 43 points over the course of 202 games.
Before making it to the NHL – despite not getting drafted – Hunt played in the BCHL as a members of the Trail Smoke Eaters.
