TAMPA, Fla. - Left-handed pitcher JP Howell was placed on 10-day disabled list by the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday with a left shoulder strain.
Howell has struggled in his first season with Toronto, giving up two hits and two runs for a 54.00 earned-run average in one third of an inning pitched.
Right-handed pitcher Dominic Leone was recalled from triple-A Buffalo.
