OAKLAND, Calif. - Toronto third baseman Brett Lawrie left Friday night's game against the Oakland Athletics after one inning with tightness in is rib cage.
Lawrie, from Surrey, B.C., led off the game and was called out on strikes on a full count. He fouled off three pitches and checked his swing once during the at-bat.
Lawrie, who leads the Blue Jays with 112 hits, is 3 of 18 on the current road trip.
