SUMMERLAND - Beachgoers are cautioned against swimming at Summerland's Rotary Beach.

In a swimming advisory issued Friday, Aug. 23, the District of Summerland said bacterial counts at Gordon Beggs Rotary Beach South exceed Health Canada Guidelines and cautioned against any recreational activities.

The advisory remains in effect until further notice.

This isn't the first time high bacterial counts have lead to a swimming advisory in the Okanagan this year. Vernon's Kin Beach also saw an advisory on July 5.
