VERNON - Swimmers are advised to stay out of the water at Kin Beach on Okanagan Lake in Vernon.

The City of Vernon says in a media release due to adverse weather conditions and higher than allowable bacterial counts, a water quality advisory has been issued today, July 5, at Kin Beach on Okanagan Lake.

Interior Health reports samples from the water at the beach show unacceptable levels of E. Coli.

Signs have been posted on the beach advising the public that swimming is not recommended at this time, the City says. The water quality will continue to be monitored and the public will be advised when it's safe to get back into the water.
