A one-year-old infant died after they were hit by a vehicle in a Kamloops driveway.
Paramedics were called to the scene on the 1500 block of Ord Road and took the baby to the hospital on Sept. 6. Police were called to assist them around 4:50 p.m., according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.
“The baby was transported to hospital with critical injuries, but sadly did not survive,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP said in the news release.
Because the incident involves the death of a child, the Serious Crime Unit is assisting in the investigation, while the BC Coroners Service probes the death separately.
Anyone who witnessed or has information that may be related and has not yet shared it with police, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-32329.
