The Adventurers Wanders Explorers Film Festival (AWEFF) took place on September 17th at the Rotary Centre for the Arts in Downtown Kelowna. It was held in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association and delivered seven impactful short films to local viewers.

This annual event is hosted each autumn by Angry Whale Media, a Kelowna, Vancouver, and Toronto based company, to showcase the meeting of outdoor sports and untamed nature. This year, their showcase took the audience across the world from the Redbull Rampage hosted in Utah’s vast desert landscape to the desolate lighthouses of France and even to the beloved Cambodia Trail in Vancouver, B.C.

Eight different directors presented their work across the seven films, which are still available online for ticketholders. Those who missed the event can still enjoy two of the films, which are linked below.

In nineteen minutes, director Madeleine Reynolds takes viewers on a thrilling journey through the first ever Redbull Rampage for female competitors. ‘Leaving a Legacy’ can be viewed here.

Director Anthony Lietart shares the love of the ocean through the points of view of different seafarers. This includes athlete Maxime Chabloz, who takes on the task of traveling across France to interview lighthouse keepers and their lonesome but impactful stories. ‘The End of the World’ can be viewed here.
