KELOWNA – Investigators are looking into a suspicious structure fire that took off early this morning on June Springs Road.

The building was empty at the time and there were no injuries, however the fire is under investigation by the RCMP and Kelowna Fire Department.

At 9:40 a.m. today, April 15, KFD crews responded to several 911 calls of a fire in the 4400 block of June Springs Road, according to a release from Steve Wallick, platoon captain.

Wallick says firefighters were met with a fully engulfed building and fire was spreading to brush nearby. Crews contained the fire to the building and adjacent sea can.

No hydrants were nearby, so firefighters depended on a water tender as the water source.

Seventeen firefighters responded to the blaze along with three engines, one water tender, a rescue vehicle, a bush truck, safety vehicle and a command unit.
