Authorities investigating after Cherryville lumber accident

CHERRYVILLE - WorkSafe B.C. is investigating after a 31-year-old male was injured in a workplace logging accident.

Spokesperson Gillian Burnett said in an email they were notified of a serious incident at a logging site close to Sugar Lake Road and Highway 6 in Cherryville shortly after 11:30 a.m. yesterday, Feb. 12.

North Okanagan RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett said in an email, officers were called following the work-related incident in Cherryville. The male was transported to the nearest medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.

WorkSafeBC confirmed they are investigating the incident.
