A man who reportedly tried to rob a downtown Kamloops business while armed with a knife was arrested late last week.

The incident took place on the 400-block of Lansdowne Street around 3:25 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, according to an RCMP media release.

The man allegedly attempted to steal and then brandished a knife when confronted by staff, RCMP said.

Police said officers responded and located the suspect nearby, who was arrested without incident.

The man was taken to cells and later released with a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion and subsequent charge assessment process, RCMP said.
