Okanagan Forest Task Force members located a stolen ATM and suspicious vehicle at a dump site earlier this week and notified the RCMP.

Kane Blake, founder of the volunteer group that aims to rid the woods of trash, found the ATM at a common illegal dump site on Postill Lake Road, he said.

Blake had read the news that morning about the ATM that was stolen from a Lake Country business with suspects using a white van to conduct the crime.

A white van was also found at the location at roughly 9:30 p.m. and it was still running, he said.

He called the RCMP and officers attended to the scene.

On Dec. 8, at approximately 10 p.m., Kelowna RCMP officers located the vehicle believed to have been used in the break-and-enter at a business earlier that day, according to an emailed RCMP statement.

“No one was in the vehicle. A search was conducted in the area, but no suspects were found. The vehicle has been seized for investigation.”

“The ATM located on scene was also seized for examination to further the investigation which remains ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time,” according to the email.
