BELGRADE, Serbia - Canada's Lindsey Butterworth came in sixth in the women's 800 metres on the final day of the world athletics indoor championships Sunday.
The 29-year-old from North Vancouver, B.C., crossed the finish line in two minutes 3.21 seconds.
American Ajee Wilson won gold with a time of 1:59.09. Ethiopia's Freweyni Hailu was second and Uganda's Halimah Nakaayi finished third.
The Canadians failed to reach the podium on the last day of the three-day event.
Damian Warner's heptathlon gold on Saturday was Canada's only medal in Belgrade.
"I think our team performed well," said Athletics Canada coach Glenroy Gilbert. "Some athletes were disappointed, but others performed exactly as expected. It set the tone for a very positive season for most of the athletes."
