Kelowna RCMP found a deceased woman’s ashes in a bag in an abandoned tent, and now the remains have been reunited with a family member.

Evelyn Robertson, 93, died on March 1, 2020, and was cremated.

Her ashes were recently found in a bag in an abandoned tent, RCMP said.

Police tried to find Robertson’s living relatives but were unsuccessful, so on Sept. 27, they put the word out to the public in an effort to try to track down a family member.

Within a day a family member in a different province contacted Kelowna RCMP and agreed to take the ashes to give Robertson a proper resting place.
