FILE PHOTO- Penticton RCMP are seeking witnesses to a public washroom fire at Okanagan Lake Park this morning, June 8, 2020.

Penticton Mounties are seeking witnesses to a public washroom fire in Okanagan Lake Park.

The Penticton Fire Department responded to a call of a fire inside the men’s public washroom at Okanagan Lake Park around 6:30 a.m. this morning, June 8.

Both men’s washrooms were extensively damaged after clothing had been intentionally set on fire, Const. James Grandy said in a press release.

The women’s washrooms were not damaged and had just been opened up minutes before.

Arson is the suspected cause.

Police are asking any witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious to call the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300, or attend the RCMP detachment in Penticton.
