Arrests have been made in relation to the brutal beating of a teenager last fall on the Okanagan Rail Trail in Kelowna.
A 17-year-old male was assaulted on Nov. 9 which resulted in a collapsed lung, broken ribs, nasal and dental fractures, a mild concussion and extensive bruising, according to an RCMP press release issued today, Aug. 26.
No suspects were located during the initial investigation. At the time police said they were searching for two transient suspects.
However, over the following months the Kelowna General Investigative Support Team identified three men as suspects after an “extensive investigation.”

The trio has been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court Dec. 15.
“This incident shocked our community and has been life altering for the victim and his family,” Kelowna's top cop Supt. Kara Triance said in the release.
“Senseless violence that shift the publics feelings of safety is intolerable and will be addressed with the full response of our teams. I am extremely proud of our RCMP Officers who dedicated themselves tirelessly to this file which resulted in these arrests.”
The investigation is still ongoing.
