KELOWNA - Kelowna RCMP have arrested one of the two suspects in connection with an armed robbery at the Garden of Eden in Kelowna a year ago.

During the robbery on June 18, 2018, two men wearing masks and carrying guns walked into the massage parlour and escort agency in the 300 block of Lawrence Avenue in Kelowna. Police said at the time a shot was fired during the holdup but no one was hurt.

Brandon David Tchir, 33, was arrested on Hein Road in Kelowna today, June 12, according to an RCMP media release. He has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, disguising his face with intent to commit an indictable offence and using an imitation firearm while committing an indictable offence.

“Our investigation is not over yet,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in the release. “Kelowna RCMP GIS Robbery investigators are continuing their efforts to identify the second masked suspect, and a potential third accomplice who actively participated in the robbery, and bring them each to justice.”

The second male suspect was described by police as more than 6' tall. He was wearing a black mask, a black hat, black jacket, a grey T-shirt and a pair of grey pants.
