KELOWNA – Two armed masked men held up the Garden of Eden in downtown Kelowna yesterday afternoon, and at one point during the robbery a shot was fired.

RCMP say at around 4:26 p.m. yesterday, June 18, two men wearing masks and carrying guns walked into the massage parlour and escort agency in the 300 block of Lawrence Avenue in Kelowna.

“Physical evidence at the scene suggests that a firearm was discharged inside the business during this brazen daytime robbery,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release. “Remarkably no one was reportedly injured at the scene.”

The suspects got away with some cash and were last seen running eastbound on Lawrence Avenue.

Despite a search by officers and a police dog, the two suspects got away.

“Investigators are asking area businesses to review their video surveillance footage for anything that may be of interest to police,” O’Donaghey says.

Police are asking anyone with any information to contact Const. Steve McBride of the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section at 250-762-3300. Or remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
