KAMLOOPS – The clerk at the Sahali Esso convenience store wasn’t hurt during an armed robbery this morning, but was no doubt left shaken.
Kamloops RCMP say a man walked into the gas station at 915 Columbia St. around 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 20, pulled out a knife, grabbed the clerk, and demanded money and cigarettes.
The suspect took off with cash and smokes.
“Police attempted to track the suspect with the police service dog but did not locate him,” Sgt. Joe Morrissey says in a media release. “The knife was located by the dog a short distance from the business.”
The suspect is described as 5’10” tall and 200 lbs. He was wearing a camouflage balaclava over his face, a light grey hoodie and dark pants.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers 250-828-3215.
