VERNON - There is a great line up of events for Carnival Celebrates Canada’s 150th 2017.
The 57th annual Vernon Winter Carnival runs Feb. 3 to 12, 2017 with close to 100 events. Tickets are going fast so if you have an eye on a particular event you are urged to grab tickets as soon as possible.
“Suds and Cider, Grandparents Grandchild dance are sold out and there are 10 tickets left for Unwind downtown, and 12 for Pinot and Paint” said Deb White, Carnival chairperson. “The events are selling quickly; you don’t want to miss out”
“Sadly we have had a few events that have had to cancel. Lone Pine singles dance is cancelled due to frozen water lines and Pianographicus is also cancelled” said White. “We are very excited to have our local entertainer, Shawn Lightfoot, perform at the Jopo luncheon Vernon Lodge while the senior jopo house and winter break out now have entertainment also! Alan Greenwood does a great Red Skelton impersonation and will wow you!”
“Do you want to get involved with Carnival, we are looking for volunteers to be Carnival Cops, jopo and jopette. Please call the office 250-545-2236 if you are interested” said Deb White. “and don’t forget, We’re open on Saturday’s till carnival,” said White.
