KELOWNA – If you’ve ever wondered if that antique in your attic is a trinket or a treasure, then an upcoming event at the Kelowna Art Gallery is just what you’ve been waiting for.

Treasures from the Attic is an Antiques Roadshow-type event where residents of the Okanagan can have their art, antiques and collectibles professionally appraised by the owner of Blundell Appraisers in Vernon.

Peter Blundell will be at the gallery between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. September 17 for this all-day event that is free for spectators.

“He’s an amazing man and a true historian,” says gallery spokesperson Joshua Desnoyers. “ He’s so excited about everything he discovers.”

There is a charge of $40 for members of the gallery and $50 for non-members for a 15 minute appraisal of up to three items.

Desnoyers says there is only space for fewer than 30 people and recommends those interested reserve as soon as possible.

“We’ve got six to ten bookings already so book early," he says. "It’s a great event that attracts a lot of people of all ages. Who wouldn’t want to watch someone find out that trinket from their attic is actually a treasure?”

Those interested in having an item appraised are asked to call the Kelowna Art Gallery at 250-762-2226.
