The northern lights could be seen from the Okanagan on the evening of July 22-23.

The Aurora Borealis is expected to be active in the skies above Kamloops and the Okanagan this week.
Auroraforecast.com is predicting solar activity will reach 9 out of 10 on Aug. 18, and then 8 out of 10 on Aug. 19.
“Active aurora possible with slight chance of isolated minor auroral substorms and favourable conditions for major aurora activity,” reads the description for both nights.
"The geomagnetic field is expected to be … active to severe storm levels on Aug. 18 and unsettled to major storm levels on Aug. 19.”
The weather will be cooperating for skywatchers by offering clear skies in Kamloops and the Okanagan. However a waning moon, which enters its last quarter of the cycle on Aug. 19, will prevent the sky from getting completely dark.
