The second COVID-19 outbreak at Kelowna General Hospital has been declared over by Interior Health today.
The outbreak on Unit 4E at the hospital included a total of three cases including one patient and two staff members, according to a media release from Interior Health.
An outbreak on Unit 5B, that claimed two lives, was declared over on April 7. There were a total of 10 infections from that outbreak, including five patients and five hospital staff.
“Interior Health has been managing COVID-19 outbreaks in acute care settings for almost the last 97 consecutive days,” IH chief medical health officer Dr. Albert de Villiers said in the release.
