Crews clean up spilled glue after Alberta CN freight train derailment

WAINWRIGHT, Alta. - Emergency crews are cleaning up spilled glue from a 23-car train derailment in east-central Alberta.

The CN (TSX:CNR) cars carrying a variety of freight came off the rails about 160 kilometres east of Edmonton near Wainwright.

A spokesman says there are no reports of injuries.

A CN release says environmental teams are cleaning up liquid adhesive released from one of the cars, the only one to have spilled its contents.

The 114-car train was on its way to Saskatoon from Edmonton when it derailed.

CN says the train was inspected numerous times before it left the station.

An investigation is ongoing.
