VERNON - Police received a complaint yesterday about a group of men using stolen credit cards to make an interesting purchase.

In the afternoon April 15, Save on Foods in Vernon told Mounties two men purchased a large number of prepaid gift cards. They left quickly when a third man attempted to buy more on another credit card and was rejected.

During the call, one of the main suspects was described as black, 6" tall and wearing a dark blue hoodie and jeans. The other main suspect was described as Caucasian.

When officers arrived at Save on Foods to investigate the matter, they were given further details. There were four men all together; three black men, or men who appeared to have very dark skin and a Caucasian man. They all appeared to be in their 30's.

Police are working with store security to determine if photos of suspects can be obtained.

Meanwhile, Vernon RCMP are asking city merchants to be on the lookout for this type of activity and to contact the nearest police detachment to report this type of activity.
