EDMONTON - Police in Edmonton say the accused in a bloody armoured car robbery that left three of his fellow guards dead is co-operating with investigators.

Supt. Bob Hassal says he can't say more to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Travis Brandon Baumgartner, who is 21, is still in custody in Langley, B.C., where he has appeared before a justice after he was caught on the weekend trying to cross the border.

Hassal says it's hoped Baumgartner will appear in court in Edmonton as early as Wednesday.

He also says a fourth guard critically wounded in the shooting Friday at the University of Alberta is improving somewhat.

The president of security company G4S says a fund has been set up to support the families of the victims.
