Alberta firm fined for infractions at Penticton worksite

An Alberta stucco firm has been fined by Worksafe B.C. for safety violations at a Penticton work site.

A1 Alberta Construction Ltd. was levied a $2,500 fine for not using a fall protection system while applying stucco on a commercial building under construction in Penticton.

Worksafe B.C. listed the infraction on its website recently.

Inspectors at the site determined the workers had been on the firm’s unguarded scaffold system without use of a fall protection system, exposing to workers of fall risks up to 12.8 metres.

No address for the construction site was provided. The fine was imposed on Aug. 7.

Worksafe says the company failed to ensure fall protection was used, and failed to ensure elevated work platforms had guardrails as required, both high-risk violations.
