An Alberta couple in their early 60s, who were reported missing for more than a week after heading back to Alberta from Whitehorse, YT., have been found.

Whitehorse RCMP, in a news release issued today, July 29, said there were rumours they were located last night but they could not release that information until the police had direct contact with them.

"We can confirm that they have been located and are safe," the release says.

Owen and Susan Konski, both in their early 60s, are believed to have left Whitehorse on July 20 or 21, heading down the Alaska Highway to Alberta, according to a Whitehorse RCMP news release.

It does not say where, in Alberta, they were headed to.

They are believed to be driving a white 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck with an Alberta license plate and towing a 30 foot long fifth wheel travel trailer.

This is the truck and trailer they were believed to be travelling in.

“Attempts to contact Owen and Susan have been unsuccessful since July 19 and their family is concerned for their safety,” the news release says. “Police have done patrols in areas along the highway and followed up on other leads without locating the couple to this point.”

It’s about 1,400 km from Whitehorse to Mile 0 in Dawson Creek, near the Alberta border.

Susan is described as a having long white hair, green eyes, and is 5' 6".

Owen is described as a Caucasian man with medium-length gray/white hair, gray eyes, and a goatee. He wears glasses.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact their local police detachment, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

 - This article was updated at 3:22 p.m., July 29, 2022 to say they Owens have been found and are safe.
