Adult dead after suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at Salmon Arm campground

SALMON ARM - One adult is dead and a youth is in serious condition after a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning near Salmon Arm today.

Cpl. Chris Manseau said RCMP officers arrived at a campground north of Salmon Arm around 10 a.m. on May 18 after receiving a phone call. The found an adult dead in a tent along with a youth in serious condition. The youth was airlifted to a hospital.

Manseau said carbon monoxide poisoning is believed to be the culprit. He said the death is not suspicious, although the investigation has been handed over to the B.C. Coroners Service.
