Accused in drive-by shooting granted bail

KAMLOOPS – One of two men accused in a fatal drive-by shooting in Salmon Arm was granted bail Friday morning in Kamloops Supreme Court.

Jeremy Davis, 24, was released on a $100,000 surety. He and Jordan Larry Barnes, 27, are charged with the second degree murder of Nicolas Larsen, 24.

RCMP statements say Larsen was forced off the road while driving his vehicle. He was shot several times on Blind Bay Road in the Shuswap in June 2011.

Davis was arrested outside of his home in Williams Lake on June 12, 2014. After searching his residence, police recovered firearms said to be of interest to the investigation.

Barnes was arrested the next day in Kelowna. He remains in custody.

Both parties are scheduled to appear in court in September.
