About that man searching Kelowna schools? All good, police say

KELOWNA - Police are standing down on a public call to identify a man who was searching local schools for a student.

After Kelowna RCMP said they wanted to know who the man was, he went to them to explain and police say there is no cause for alarm.

“RCMP strongly believe that any potential risk has been reduced, even eliminated thanks to the conversation police were able to have with the man,” spokesperson Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says. “The discussion has provided us with clarity into the teen’s intentions, which has satisfied investigators that they were not criminal in nature.”

Police thanked the public for their help.
