A winning day for Armstrong resident

Eleanor Tardi of Armstrong was the lucky winner of the iNFOnews.ca IPE mountain bike give away.

ARMSTRONG - Most people would agree there’s nothing better than winning something.

Eleanor Tardi certainly feels that way as she expressed her jubilation after her name was randomly chosen to take home a CCM soft tail mountain bike courtesy of iNFOnews.ca and Canadian Tire Vernon.

“I was totally surprised when I won the bike. It’s wonderful. I am always on iNFOnews.ca. They give us news that I want to read,” says Tardi, who is retired and lives in Armstrong with her husband.

iNFOnews.ca gave away the bike in a random draw during this year’s Interior Provincial Exhibition. People who came by the iNFOnews.ca display were encouraged to like iNFOnews.ca on Facebook and enter the bike give away.

Tardi, a mother of six grown children and 10 grand children — who live around the globe including Oklahoma, New Zealand, Los Angeles and Calgary — says the bike will be well used when her kids come to visit as she only has one bike between them all.

As the former vice president of marketing and sales for the Prestige hotel chain, Tardi says it’s nice to see iNFOnews.ca be a part of the communities it serves.

“I’m so appreciative and thankful for the bike.”

The five-day, 119th IPE was attended by 150,000 visitors this year.
