652 new COVID-19 cases in B.C.; 162 in Interior Health

Another 162 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the Interior Health region in the last 24 hours.

That’s part of the total of 652 new cases in B.C. as a whole with 219 in Fraser Health, 117 in Northern Health, 82 on Vancouver Island, 70 in Vancouver Coastal and two cases in people who live outside B.C., according to a news release from the Ministry of Health issued today, Sept. 28.

There were two more deaths, both on Vancouver Island, bringing the provincial total to 1,942 since the start of the pandemic.

Of 5,992 active cases, 1,176 are in the Interior Health region. There are 316 people in B.C. hospitals including 141 in intensive care.

The single dose vaccination rate has hit 87.8% of those over the age of 12, with 80.6% of B.C. residents now having one dose.
