After six COVID-19 deaths were reported in the Interior Health region yesterday, Sept. 2, another three were recorded in the last 24 hours.
There have been no other COVID-19 deaths recorded in the rest of B.C. over that same time period but a total of 1,827 B.C. residents have died of the disease, according to a Ministry of Health media release issued today, Sept. 3.
Another 230 new cases of COVID were reported in the Interior Health region since yesterday. That’s the same number as in the much larger Fraser Health region and the bulk of the 671 new cases in B.C. as a whole.
There were 78 new cases in the Vancouver Coastal health region, 89 in Northern Health and 44 on Vancouver Island.
There are 5,872 active cases in B.C. with 1,965 of those being in Interior Health. There are 215 people in B.C. hospitals with 118 of those in intensive care.
The vaccination rate for those over the age of 12 is at 84.8 per cent, with 77.1 per cent of B.C. residents being fully vaccinated.
