Charges have been approved in connection to a homicide in Kelowna this past weekend.

RCMP say Lorence Williams has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Thomas Chadwick.

Chadwick's body was found just after 10 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at a residence in the 3400 block of Sexsmith Road in Kelowna, according to an RCMP media release.

Williams was arrested the following day on May 31.

He has made a first court appearance and remains in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 8.

This is the first release of information from Kelowna RCMP about the homicide and the arrest.

RCMP say they will not be providing any more information about the murder to the public as the matter is now before the courts.
