The Interior Health region had the highest number of new cases of COVID-19 of any of B.C.’s five health regions over the weekend with 42 of the 123 for the entire province.

The Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal regions had 38 each, there were five new cases on Vancouver Island and none in the North.

Of the 123 B.C. cases, 46 were from Friday to Saturday, 47 from Saturday to Sunday and 30 from Sunday to Monday.

There are 658 active cases in B.C., with 167 of those in the Interior Health region.

There were no new deaths.

There are 66 people in hospital, 14 of whom are in intensive care.

The case numbers are provisional because of a “delayed data refresh,” states a Government of B.C. news release.

As of today, July 12, 78.8 per cent (3,652,759) of eligible people 12 and older have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 44.6 per cent (2,068,450) received their second doses.
