11 properties damaged or destroyed by Bush Creek East wildfire: TNRD

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has confirmed 11 properties were destroyed or damaged by the Bush Creek East wildfire.

Nine of those properties have structures that were destroyed, while two properties had structures that were damaged, according to a media release issued today, Aug. 23.

The impacted structures were all in the southern Adams Lake area.

The regional district said no structures have been damaged or destroyed in the Loakin-Bear Creek Road, Little Shuswap Lake Road or Turtle Valley areas, which remain under an evacuation order.

“There remain ongoing hazards in fire affected areas, including downed power lines, danger trees and debris,” the release reads. “Active fire suppression efforts are also continuing in many areas.”

The property owners have been contact directly by the regional district with the bad news.
