Prince George and Langley RCMP uncovered $10,000 in luxury handbags alongside stockpiles of illegal drugs and stolen motorcycles during a recent joint operation.

Members of the Prince George RCMP street crew unit executed several search warrants throughout September and October in response to the illicit drug trafficking taking place in the city, according to an RCMP media release.

Between Oct. 9 and Oct. 11, police conducted search warrants at two locations in Prince George where officers uncovered 1.5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl. They also found 2,000 hydromorphone pills and 1,000 OxyContin pills. Ammunition and body armour were also seized.

“Our street crew unit then traveled to Langley to execute a search warrant at a residence there they identified as connected with the illicit drug trade in Prince George,” Prince George RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in the release.

“With the assistance of police officers from the Lower Mainland emergency response team and Langley RCMP, the search warrant was executed and an estimated $10,000 in luxury handbags, $50,000 in stolen motorcycles, a small quantity of suspected fentanyl and drug trafficking paraphernalia was seized."

RCMP encourage anyone with information on those bringing illicit drugs into the city to speak with Prince George RCMP at 250 561-3300 or to contact Northern BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or on the website here.
