  • Child safety initiative gives car seats to kids in need

    OKANAGAN - The Child Safety Initiative is a unique partnership between the Central Okanagan Foundation, KGH Foundation  and  United Way Central and South Okanagan/Similkameen investing a total of $15,000 for 84 car seats. 
  • Okanagan Basin Water Board proposes new B.C. water commission

    A new B.C. water commission to streamline water use reporting and connect water licence rental fees with water management needs is being proposed by the Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB). Such a commission would be self-funded and would also be able to provide grants for water projects with only slight increase in current water license fees, according to an independent business case prepared by accounting firm Grant Thornton.
  • $1.5 million to help revitalize contaminated land

    The Province is helping revitalize communities throughout B.C. by investing $1.5 million in a program that helps clean up contaminated land and get it ready for redevelopment, Minister of
    Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson announced today.
