    WEST KELOWNA - Special Council Meeting February 28, 2017

    Secondary Suites & Carriage Houses
    Council took part in a workshop to review the effectiveness of secondary suite and carriage house regulations in the community, and provided direction on key decision points. Council first implemented secondary suite regulations in 2010 and allowed carriage homes beginning in 2015.

    Gift Wrapping Volunteers – This December the local Kamloops Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society will be providing Gift Wrap by Donation at Aberdeen Mall for the entire month. As you can imagine, it takes hundreds of volunteers to make this program successful. We need your help! Donations of time are just as valuable as donations of money, and we would be so grateful for a gift of your time for a four-hour shift.

  • Key industry leaders supporting new Okanagan College Trades Training Complex

    Owners of some of the most established Central Okanagan businesses focused on the trades are now adding their weight to support the new $33-million Trades Training Complex under construction at Okanagan College’s Kelowna campus.

    Representatives from companies as diverse as automotive dealers to steel fabricators have joined the Okanagan College Foundation’s volunteer campaign team, Campaign Chair Dennis Gabelhouse announced today.

    Local State of Emergency for Gellatly Road
    Council acknowledged the declaration of the state of local emergency by Mayor Doug Findlater on May 12 regarding the slope failure on a section of Gellatly Road. Gellatly Road, from approximately Witt Road to Angus Drive, was closed May 2 due to erosion of the bank on the west side of the road, adjacent to Smith Creek.
