    On behalf of Council and the District of West Kelowna, Mayor Doug Findlater accepted two Certificates of Recognition from Worksafe BC and the BC Municipal Safety Association (BCMSA) after a comprehensive review of its Occupational Health and Safety Program and Return to Work/Stay at Work Program.
  • West Kelowna recognized for safety program

    WEST KELOWNA - The District of West Kelowna received two Certificates of Recognition from Worksafe BC and the BC Municipal Safety Association (BCMSA) after a comprehensive review of its Occupational Health and Safety Program and Return to Work/Stay at Work Program.

    The municipality, through the BCMSA, was audited in late 2013 and successfully passed all elements, earning an overall score of 87% for its safety program and 92% for its Stay at Work/Return to Work program.
  • City of Kamloops receives top nod for workplace safety

    KAMLOOPS - The City of Kamloops recently passed a WorkSafeBC Certificate of Recognition (COR) audit conducted by an external auditor. COR recognizes and rewards employers who go beyond the legal requirements of the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, by taking a best practices approach to implementing safety management systems in Occupational Health and Safety (the OH&S COR) and Return to Work (the RTW COR) Programs.
