This year, we are hosting our inaugural Tee Up to Drive Out Hunger Golf Tournament to raise funds to support our food recovery and distribution efforts. Join us on May 29, 2025 at the Okanagan Golf Club’s Quail Course, in Kelowna, BC with a shotgun start at 11:00AM. Your financial support will go miles to make our food distribution efforts more sustainable and ensure the continuation of our Helping Through Sharing Network.
What We Do
The Lake Country Food Assistance Society is a small Food Bank with big impact, dedicated to our mission: to eliminate hunger. We provide a monthly hamper program for individuals and families in our community, place food in community fridges throughout Lake Country, operate a Food Recovery program to keep perishable food from being wasted, and play a lead role in coordinating the transportation of recovered food to those in need across the Okanagan. We call this food recovery and distribution program our “Helping Through Sharing” Network. Through our dedicated volunteers and partnerships with more than 50 other helping organizations including food banks, school districts, First Nations and community organizations, we prevent food waste and provide essential nourishment to children, families, the elderly, and food-insecure groups throughout the Okanagan.
