Event Description

Lindsey Tyne Johnson presents Postcards of Courage, a unique experience aimed at supporting survivors and victims of violence and crime. This free-to-attend, artistic workshop will encourage a creative journey that will allow you to express yourself, connect with others, and make a positive impact. Engage in the art of postcard-making, crafting messages of healing and hope for survivors. Each postcard symbolizes support, reminding survivors that they are not alone and that their stories matter. The postcards will be given to survivors in times of need by local organizations that support survivors and their needs. The Kamloops Sexual Assault Counselling Centre will be present, providing vital resources and educational materials. Moreover, a therapist/counsellor will be on-site to provide any emotional support.
Postcards of Courage welcomes individuals of all ages and backgrounds without any admission requirements or prior artistic experience. This event is an opportunity for the community to come together, embrace the power of art, and make a tangible difference in the lives of survivors and victims.
This event was made possible with local support from: Kamloops Sexual Assault Counselling Centre, Kamloops Art Gallery, and Kamloops District Elizabeth Fry Society.
ASL interpretation is available at this event.
