Event Description
Launch Okanagan is offering their Dollars and Sense program starting this January, sponsored by Crowe MacKay LLP. It is a free, eight-week condensed money management program for anyone wanting to better understand everyday financial matters.
The course begins January 14 and runs weekly on Tuesday evenings. It covers budgeting, saving and investing, credit and debit management, consumerism, and your relationship with money. The course instructors have professional finance backgrounds, such as certified financial planners, providing participants with reliable tools to build financial stability.
Classes are held on Zoom, and participation is open to any individual seeking money management mentorship. Program accessibility is a priority of Launch Okanagan, so registrants may choose to sign up and learn anonymously, removing the stigma from money matters.
“The Dollars and Sense program is suited for anyone that wants to improve their financial situation and learn strategies on how to manage their money more effectively,” says Jennifer Robins, Executive Director of Launch Okanagan. “Past participants have had a wide range of knowledge, diverse backgrounds, and different experiences with money. We welcome everyone. Regardless of background, many things that impact our financial lives are outside our control. This program helps people to identify, understand, and prepare for these instances, so they can succeed no matter the circumstances.”
Many former program participants have stressed the impact this program has had on their lives. They not only improved their financial literacy, but also their confidence and stress management. When asked about how the program impacted their life, a recent program graduate said: “This program gave me confidence and renewed hope - I feel like a superhero now!”
Launch Okanagan is thrilled to share that Crowe MacKay will be sponsoring this program for the 5th year. As a business operating in the financial industry, the staff at Crowe MacKay understand just how valuable financial education can be:
“Crowe MacKay is proud to partner with Launch Okanagan and sponsor this series of the Dollars and Sense program. As trusted advisors in our community, we understand the value of financial education, and its power to change lives and build successful futures for individuals and families,” says Dave Gautier, Managing Partner of Crowe MacKay’s Kelowna office.
Over the past few years, we've experienced rises in interest rates and overall cost of living. Life has become expensive, making it difficult to budget and manage finances. It has never been more important to focus on your finances and learn how to identify barriers preventing you from experiencing financial security. The Dollars & Sense program empowers participants through education and mentorship, giving you control of your finances to achieve your goals.
The next Dollars and Sense program begins on January 14, 2025, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. To register, visit launchmyfuture.ca, or contact Launch Okanagan at info@launchokanagan.ca.
