Event Description

The Penticton Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts (PAMDA) is offering a one-day acting workshop for adults and teens that will cover many of the fundamentals necessary to pursue a successful acting career. We’re going to focus on acting techniques and auditioning skills to help participants succeed in the world of theater. We’ll look at preparing and performing a monologue and scene work - both improvised and scripted. And we’ll talk about what to expect at an audition and how to create a performance résumé. The workshop is ideal for people who want to get into theatre but don’t know where to start and for actors with upcoming auditions. But this workshop isn’t just for those aspiring to appear on Broadway. There are many ways that an acting workshop can benefit everyone, including improving public speaking skills, self-confidence, and memorization. The cost for this one-day workshop series is $110, (including all registration fees). As with all PAMDA courses, tuition assistance is available for those that qualify. Enrollment is limited to 25 and pre-registration is required by noon on February 20. Please call 250.493.7977 or e-mail info@pentictonacademyofmusic.ca to reserve your seat.
